Escaping a family scandal, Catherine Royner (Arnaud) enters an exclusive girls boarding school and is immediately introduced to a clique of wealthy girls--one of whom, Monica (Laurent) develops a amourous attraction to the newcomer. Film was originally banned in New York because of the frankness of its lesbian scenes. Deneuve's film debut (under the family name Dorleac) as Adelaide. Her scenes were cut in the version originally released in the U.S. but are restored on the DVD.
