Mild fish-out-of-water comedy finds British chemist Perry (Roache), who works on devising new paint colors, caught up in every conceivable disaster while on an Australian holiday. The recent widower (his wife was crushed by a refrigerator) wins his vacation, which turns out to be a decidedly third-rate bus trip cross-country with a petty tyrant operator (Billing) and a number of Aussie eccentrics. Title refers to a particular shade of red that Perry is trying to develop.
