Experimental film is a homage to Lady Ada Lovelace (Swinton), daughter of Lord Byron, a 19th-century mathematician who developed what is now considered the first computer programming language. Ada is regarded by contemporary computer scientist Amy Coer (Faridany) as her spiritual mentor and Amy becomes obsessed with devising a method to actually communicate with the long-deceased Ada, whose life uncannily paralells her own.
