Hart's experimental feature debut uses Super-8, 16mm, and 35mm formats to tell a familiar story. Eighteen-year-old Terry (Bryne) hangs out on the streets of Queens doing various odd jobs for a variety of small-time gamblers, dealers, and mobsters. He falls for Lyrica (Duge) and gets her away from her abusive lover and the teen twosome head out of town, hoping for a better life.
