Chabrol's 50th film deals with femme fatale con woman Betty (Huppert) and her older partner, Victor (Serrault). Their modus operandi is for Betty to pick up a businessman, go to his hotel room, and after he passes out from the mickey she's put in his drink, Betty and Victor steal just enough to make it worth their time without raising immediate suspicions. But Betty wants to go for higher stakes and works her own scam with shady Maurice (Cluzet), which has unexpected consequences for the trio. French with subtitles.
