Jesus' Son Movie Review 1999

Crudup gives a fine performance as a sweet, passive, bungling druggie known only as FH (which stands for F***head). He falls for reckless heroin-addict Michelle (Morton), ODs, gets saved, gets dumped, gets in a car wreck, and eventually cleans up and finds some kind of peace working in an Arizona nursing home. There's really not much plot; it's the characters that carry things along. Film is set in the '70s and based on Dennis Johnson's 1992 collection of short stories.
