Picks up the story of Ross and Demelza Poldark and their family from where the 1970s BBC series ended. It's 1810 and Ross is spending most of his time in London as a Member of Parliament while at their Cornwall home, Demelza deals with the continuing Warleggan feud. Poldark son, Jeremy, struggles to keep the mine going and daughter Clowance is in the throes of her first romance. Based on the novel "The Stranger from the Sea" by Winston Graham.
