Orphaned Becky Sharp (Little) is beautiful, clever and, despite her poverty, determined to get ahead in society so she can enjoy the same privileges as her posh childhood friend, Amelia Sedley (Grey). And she's not too particular about how she stakes her claim. Based on the novel by William Makepeace Thackeray, this Brit miniseries loses the author's acerbic voice which makes for a bland, though typically lavish, production.
