Wealthy widower Adam Verver (Morris) and his naive daughter, Maggie (Townsend), are utterly devoted to each other. A situtation that doesn't change with Maggie's marriage to an impoverished Italian prince (Massey). Then Maggie decides her lonely father should also remarry and who could be better than Maggie's old chum, the beautiful Charlotte (Hunnicutt). But what the Ververs don't realize is how well the Prince and Charlotte already know each other. However, a gilded crystal cup--The Golden Bowl--will bring unwelcome knowledge. Based on the novel by Henry James.
