Gossip Movie Review 1999

Intriguing premise goes over-the-top. Bored rich boy Derrick (Marsden) share his pad with fellow college students Cathy (Headey) and Travis (Reedus). They all take a class where the prof (Bogosian) rants about the blurring of gossip and news. Then Derrick sees campus ice queen Naomi (Hudson) passed out a party with her jock boyfriend Beau (Jackson). So Derrick persuades his pals that they should all spread a rumor that Naomi did the wild thing with Beau and see how the slander takes on a life of its own. Only what no one anticipates is that Naomi comes to believe she's been raped and Beau gets arrested.
