Eldard stars as a compulsive Vegas gambler who's so deeply in debt he agrees to his shady uncle's (Mantegna) offer to get him a job with gangster Goodman. Eldard places bets with sports bookies (with mob money) and falls for cocktail waitress Cox, using some of Goodman's money to buy her a diamond ring. The vengeful Goodman doesn't take kindly to this.
