Famed bank robber Henry (Newman) fakes a stroke so he can get transferred from prison to a nursing home. Carol (Fiorentino) is the bored former prom queen nurse who knows he's faking and enlists his help in pulling one more job. She also brings along dull but devoted hubby Wayne (Mulroney). The characters, and the superb actors playing them, are the main reasons to see this one. Newman is still more charismatic than 90% of the leading men around, while Fiorentino and Mulroney seem inspired just by being on the same set with him. The lightweight script depends heavily on the audience's knowledge of Newman's filmography and the standard caper comedy conventions, but still manages to entertain.
