Frail and nearly blind, old Count Albrit (Fernan-Gomez) returns to Spain from Peru, having lost the family's money. While he was away, the Count's only son died and from his belongings, the old man learned that his daughter-in-law was unfaithful and one of his lovely granddaughters is not his flesh-and-blood. He becomes determined to discover who is true heir, while his equally determined daughter-in-law wants to protect her children and what remains of their inheritance. Based on the novel by Benito Perez-Galdos. Spanish with subtitles.
