La Separation Movie Review 1998

Pierre (Auteuil) and Anne (Huppert) share a long-term relationship and a 15-month-old son. What they no longer seem to have is any passion for each other as they go through their daily routine. Anne decides to have an affair--but doesn't see any reason it should break up her household. However, the increasingly miserable Pierre doesn't share her belief. Based on the 1991 novel "Separation" by Franck. French with subtitles.
