The Chambermaid on the Titanic Movie Review 1997

French foundry worker Horty (Martinez) wins a strongman contest and his prize is a trip to Southampton to see the launch of the Titanic. There he (platonically) shares a hotel room with maid Maria (Sanchez-Gijon), who says she has a job aboard the ship. After returning home and learning about the Titanic's sinking, Horty regales his friends with stories of his night with Maria--gradually beginning to believe his own lies about his passionate escapade. Based on the novel by Didier Decoin. French with subtitles.
