Daddy & Them Movie Review 1999

Part romance, part dysfunctional family comedy, Thornton's followup to "Sling Blade" is set in Little Rock, Arkansas. Claude (Thornton) and wife Ruby (Dern) decide to head back home after they learn that Claude's Uncle Hazel (Varney) is in jail, convicted of a petty crime. But the homecoming with Claude's extended family is chaotic to say the least. The constant family bickering gets annoying and the film's minimal charm tires quickly.
