Minna von Barnhelm or The Soldier's Fortune Movie Review 1962

Prussian nobleman Major von Tellheim becomes engaged to noblewoman Minna von Barnhelm during the Seven Year's War. But after the war has ended, the King inexplicably deprives von Tellheim of his title, leaving him humiliated and impoverished, and causing him to break his engagement. But Minna loves her man and refuses to let him go. Based on the drama by Gotthold Ephraim Lessing. German with subtitles.
