The acting's fine but the story's weak in this old-fashioned weepie. Brit wives Dawn (Blethyn) and Jackie (Walters) are best friends and in-laws, who even work at the same factory. Both women are also suffering from the marriage blues and find solace at the local bingo parlor. When Dawn wins very big, she splits the money with Jackie and then discovers that she has cancer. The duo decide this is the time for their dream Las Vegas vacation, where they even meet a Prince Charming--in the form of cowpoke Cody (Kristofferson).
