In postwar Japan, four prostitutes survive the American Occupation by sticking to their own code of conduct, including a restriction on anyone giving away their services for free. However, conduct becomes a flexible point when the women harbor a wounded black marketeer whom each comes to desire. Based on a novel by Taijiro Tamura. Japanese with subtitles.
