Hong Kong action star Jet Li (second only to Jackie Chan in Hong Kong boxoffice success) is Tsui, a mild-mannered librarian who used to be a member of a secret, biogenetically enhanced squad of super soldiers known as the "701 Squad." These commandos, who feel no fear or pain, are out to take over Hong Kong's underworld, and are killing the crime lords in grisly fashion. Tsui, aided by his detective buddy and dressed a lot like Kato from the "Green Hornet," goes into action to stop his ex-mates. Action may be a little bloody for those not used to the Hong Kong style, but Jet Li is an exciting performer who should break out big with this one after his impressive Stateside debut in "Lethal Weapon 4." Re-dubbed from the 1996 Hong Kong release.
