Death (March) is bored and wonders why humans fear him so much. He takes on human form, pretending to be the handsome Prince Sirki, and becomes a guest of Italian nobleman, Duke Lambert (Standing). He bewilders most, except the lovely Grazia (Venable), who falls in love with him. And when she does, nothing dies because Death is also in love and not attending to business. But Death is also afraid to reveal his true self for fear of repelling her. Based on Alberto Casella's play and the inspiration for the bloated "Meet Joe Black."
