A quick trip through the decade of peace, love, and Vietnam, told with all the usual cliches. Film uses the parallel stories of two families to hit the high points--the white, middleclass Herlihy family of Chicago and the black Taylor family of Mississippi. You've got hippies, Black Panthers, civil rights, the war, the anti-war movement, drugs, and rock 'n' roll. The soundtrack may be the best thing the miniseries has going for it.
