Rocky Marciano Movie Review 1999

Boxing biopic about the up-from-poverty Rocky (Favreau) who, as heavyweight champ, had 43 knockouts and who retired in 1956 undefeated. (He was killed in a 1969 plane crash.) Marciano has the usual tribulations--greedy managers and overly interested mobsters--and a climatic bout with his childhood hero, an aging Joe Louis (Davis). LoBianco, who plays a mobster, starred as Marciano in the 1979 TV movie, "Marciano."
