If the devil keeps showing up in second-rate horror flicks like this, he should get himself an agent. Although in all likelihood he probably is an agent. At any rate, he's back and trying to take over the world again by possessing the body of atheistic New York crime journalist Peter Kelson (Chaplin). Maya (Ryder), a former possession victim herself, is one of a group of New York exorcists who become aware of the conspiracy. She tries to convince the cynical Peter, but he scoffs at the idea until he begins to experience creepy hallucinations. Rent "The Exorcist" instead. Directorial debut of "Saving Private Ryan" and "Schindler's List" cinematographer Kaminski, who offers up some beautiful scenes in the midst of an ugly movie.
