Brooks plays Steven, a screenwriter who finds he's unable to get a job when his creative well runs dry. He is introduced by fellow scribe Jack (Bridges) to Sarah (Stone, showing off some surprising comedy chops), who may actually be one of the Greek goddesses of inspiration. Of course, she may be a total lunatic too. After he discovers that some of the biggest names in Hollywood swear by her mojo, Steven is thrilled when he's deemed worthy of her service. Unfortunately for him, Sarah's inspiration requires a fancy hotel room, expensive gifts, and boatloads of cash, which draws the suspicion of his wife Laura (MacDowell). As he begins writing, Steven discovers that Sarah has also inspired his wife to start a career of her own and kick him out of bed. Lots of movie in-jokes and cameos from big shots like Rob Reiner, James Cameron and Martin Scorsese.
