The alien black oil makes its reappearance in "Tunguska" as Alex Krycek also returns. And this time he and Mulder wind up in Siberia, where Mulder becomes a guinea pig in a Russian gulag. The followup, "Terma," finds Krycek once again betraying Mulder, who eventually manages to escape his prison, while back in Washington, Scully has to deal with a corrupt Senate investigation.
