Gigantor: Retrospective 30, Vol. 2 Movie Review 1964

Gigantor returns in black-and-white splendor in episodes 12 and 13 of the original series. A mysterious villain is after the plans to a spaceship and he has a weapon that may be a match for the mighty Gigantor in "The Smoke Robots." Next, in "The Freezer Ray," Dr. Ogablob kidnaps Gigantor and Bob Brilliant. He takes them to his island that's protected by two weather-controlling rays. Now it's up to Jimmy to save the day. This title was translated and dubbed for the U.S. market when it was fashionable to fool everyone into believing it was all made in America. This still is a classic that retains traces of its original charm. Many people will remember it as their first exposure to anime.
