British lawyer Rupert is reunited for the first time since childhood with his hard-living half-brother Dale, a British Columbia fisherman, at the funeral of their father. The Canadian side of Rupert's family seems to be more than a little eccentric, including Dale's mother Trudy, the keeper of the family's sordid secrets. Rupert and Dale suffer through a series of misadventures as they try to reunite as brothers and deal with their father's flawed legacy.
