Sounds like a ripoff of 1968's "Charly," which was more successful and sensitive. Molly (Shue) is a mentally challenged woman who undergoes experimental surgery which leaves her functionally normal--temporarily. She begins to gain overly powerful senses and sex drive, leading her to have an affair with fellow patient Sam (Jane). As her brain rejects the cells from the operation, she sinks back into the fog of her previous illness. Her brother Buck (Eckhart) goes from apathetic to overprotective seemingly overnight. He also begins a relationship with Molly's surgeon Susan (Hennessy) without any initial romantic foundations being shown. While Shue's performance is fairly good, the horrible editing and ill-conceived storyline doom this would-be drama.
