If you don't mind being manipulated by masters (and you really won't), the predictability of this romantic comedy won't bother you either. Hey, if you weren't looking for a happy ending, you wouldn't be watching a romantic comedy. New York columnist Ike Graham (Gere) gets into hot water (as in fired) when his story on Maggie Carpenter (Roberts), the bolting bride (three trips down the aisle and no vows), is filled with errors. So Ike decides to go to Maggie's hometown, where she's on her fourth engagement, and get the real scoop. Of course, he falls for the would-be bride and she for him but things aren't all hearts and flowers. Appealing performances and boy, does Roberts know how to wear a wedding dress.
