Romantic comedy that can coast by on charm alone. Roberts is not playing herself (okay, so there are, possibly, some similarities). She is playing a famous and neurotic movie star, Anna Scott, who's filming on location in London. She meets cute with shy travel bookstore owner William Thacker (Grant) and the unexpected twosome are soon spending a lot of time together. Trouble immediately begins when the paparazzi find out about their affair and William finds his face splashed all over the tabloids and reporters camped out in his garden. Ifans is a scene stealer as William's grubby and crazy housemate.
