This Bill Shakespeare guy must be raking in the royalties, dude! The Bard is once again adapted for teens in this update of his very un-PC comedy "The Taming of the Shrew." Obstetrician and single dad Walter (Miller) has seen enough teen pregnancies to fear all adolescent boys who show up with flowers. He decrees that his ultra-popular daughter Bianca (Oleynik) cannot date before her man-hating sister Kat (Stiles) does. Two lovesick suitors, vain Joey (Keegan) and sensitive guy Cameron (Gordon-Levitt), bribe new-kid-in-town Patrick (Ledger) to make advances on Kat in order to play "jumpeth the maiden" with Bianca. Kat and Patrick then engage in a duel of verbal thrusts and parries, gradually falling for each other. Incorporates some of Shakespeare's dialogue, but glosses over the more chauvinistic elements of his play.
