Lightweight and logic-defying, Barrymore's producing debut hypothesizes that the people who were unpopular in high school want another chance at it. Not. Still-nerdy newspaper copy editor Josie is assigned to go undercover as a student and write about high school life. She see it as a chance to be a big-time journalist and one of the "cool kids." When it turns that not much has changed for her, she enlists the help of her brother (Arquette) and a coworker (Shannon), and eventually falls for sensitive teacher Sam (Vartan). Barrymore is sweet, but doesn't exactly stretch here, and the script sounds a lot like the John Hughes comedies of the '80s. Probably more enjoyable if you're actually high school age.
