Actor/singer Harry Frommermann (Noethen) is frustrated by his lack of success and decides to put together his own a cappella group--a musical sextet known as "The Comedian Harmonists," who find great success in Germany. Unfortunately, as the '20s give way to the '30s and the rise of Nazism, the group begins to run into trouble since three of its members are Jewish. Eventually, the political pressures force the group to disband and send its Jewish members into exile. German with subtitles.
