Army nurse Margarethe Cammermeyer (Close) has had a distinguished career for 24 years, a bronze star earned in Vietnam, and obtained the rank of colonel. During a security clearance interview, she admits to the military that she is a lesbian and finds herself reluctantly in the eye of the media storm. The TV film won 3 EMMY awards: Best Actress for Close; Best Supporting Actress for Davis (as Margarethe's lover); and Best Screenplay.
