Claire Dolan Movie Review 1997

Irish immigrant Claire (Cartlidge), a hooker, decides to relocate after her mother dies and she leaves town owing her pimp, Roland (Meaney), a lot of money. She moves to Newark, gets a job as a beautician, and begins a romance with Elton (D'Onofrio). Then Roland finds her and forces Claire back into business to pay off her debt. Bleak but well-acted.
