Emir Kusturica's rambling tale of scheming Gypsies who live on the banks of the Danube river is a mixture of slapstick humor, folk tales and music. The cheesily dressed and mostly nonprofessional actors light up a plot involving a cargo of fuel, an arranged marriage, and a corpse on ice. Non-political (and much lighter) follow-up to Kusturica's Palme d'Or winning "Underground." Serbo-Croatian and Romany with subtitles.
