The Defenders: Taking the First Movie Review 1998

Don (Bridges) and M.J. (Plimpton) defend a student accused of beating a Latino to death. Their client claims he was incited by white supremist leader, John Walker (Casnoff), and agrees to a plea bargain. This enrages the victim's brother, who files a wrongful death suit against Walker and chooses Don to represent the case. Now the team must try to prove Walker's culpability without disputing his First Amendment rights to free speech.
