The Next Step Movie Review 1995

Nick Mendez (Negron) is a 35-year-old Broadway dancer who's feeling the wear and tear of his profession. A practiced seducer, Nick does have a devoted girlfriend in ex-dancer turned physical therapist, Amy (Moreu). Amy gets a job offer in Connecticut just as Nick's confidence is shaken when he's rejected for a dance role he originated in favor of a younger performer. Amy wants Nick to retire and move away with her but life away from Broadway leaves Nick wondering what he'd do. Negron is a former Broadway dancer and offers a compelling performance in a film that's ripe with showbiz cliches.
