After his release from prison on an assault charge, psychopathic Brett (Wenham), heads to the home of his mother Sandra (Curran) and younger brother Stevie (Hayes). His other brother Glenn (Polson) is now married to Jackie (Cronin) who wants him to stay out of trouble. Also greeting Brett is girlfriend Michelle (Collette) but the volatile duo are soon arguing furiously. As Brett gets drunker and more stoned, he also becomes more enraged, leading to a brutal crime. Chilling story with powerful performances; adapted from the 1991 play by Gordon Graham.
