There's not much plot and it's not really needed when cinematographer Storaro so stunningly lenses Saura's semi-documentary look at Argentina's national dance. Middleaged Buenos Aires director Mario Suarez (Sola) is depressed after being abandoned by his wife, Laura (Narova), and decides to throw himself into making a movie about the tango. The film's shady investor, Angelo Larroca (Galiardo), insists Mario hire his young dancer mistress, Elena (Maestro), with whom Mario unwisely starts to fall in love. Spanish with subtitles.
