Comedy-drama about a struggling theatre troupe in turn-of-the-century New York. Tuccio (Turturro) is the company's playwright--in love with manager/leading lady, Rachel (Turturro's wife Borowitz), and worried about the reception for his new work. Also involved are self-centered aging diva Celimene (Sarandon), theatre owner Astergourd (D'Angelo), foppish critic Bevalaqua (Walken) and the unlikely object of his affections, the troupe's clown, Marco (Irwin), among many others. Adapted from the play by Brandon Cole.
