After a young girl is murdered in northern Norway, Oslo detective Jonas Engstrom (Skarsgard) and his partner Erik Vik (Ousdal) are called in to solve the crime, aided by local cop Hilde Hagen (Armand). Engstrom accidentally shoots and kills his partner during a stakeout in the fog and attempts to cover up one killing while uncovering another. He begins to unravel when his conscience and the unrelenting sun cause not only insomnia, but a moral breakdown. His nerves jangle as he comes under suspicion from Hilde. He is also forced into a face-to-face climax with the killer, who witnessed the shooting. Excellent feature debut for Norwegian director Erik Skjoldbjaerg.
