Based on a true story that focuses on the aftermath of the Chinese revolution in 1940 and the horrors of war. The orphaned Chuchu (Ke-Yu) and Luo (Xiaoli) are sent to a Russian school outside of Moscow and begin to settle into their new lives. But their precarious happiness is shattered when German troops invade Russia during WWII. Chinese and Russian with subtitles.
