Talky, Christmastime, Manhattan-set ensemble comedy finds compulsive gambler and out of work actor Jimmy (Stoltz) owing bookie Fatty (Durning) $900. To get the money, he tells girlfriend Susan (Kelly) it's to finance an abortion for his slutty sis Maggie (Hannah). Then Maggie's ex-boyfriend Ray (Scott) gets involved and Fatty's associate Miner (Reigart) and numerous other players who all wind up at the Hi-Life Bar and discover Jimmy's scams.
