Joe Keller (Robinson) is a small-town manufacturer enjoying the profits he made from his WWII contracts. But his family is pulled apart by guilt and shame when son Chris (Lancaster) discovers his father sold defective parts to the military that resulted in loss of life and then covered up the crime. Excellent performances; adapted from the play by Arthur Miller. Remade in 1986 with James Whitmore and Aidan Quinn.
