Your Friends & Neighbors Movie Review 1998

If these are your friends and neighbors, you should reconsider your decisions and address. Six yuppies lie, cheat and deceive their way around the block in La Bute's tale of modern suburban immorality. Weasel Jerry (Stiller) sleeps with Mary (Brenneman), the supposedly happy wife of his old friend Barry (Eckhart). Meanwhile, his live-in girlfriend (Keener) is having a lesbian affair with art gallery employee Cheri (Kinski), and chilly misogynist Cary (Patric) seduces and discards a string of women. Excellent performances by the entire cast bring this nasty group to life and La Bute provides riveting if unsettling material for them.
