Children of Heaven Movie Review 1998

When nine-year-old Ali (Hashemian) discovers that his younger sister Zahra's (Seddiqi) shoes have somehow been lost, he keeps the information from his parents who are already desperately struggling to provide for them. They share Ali's tattered sneakers so that both children can still go to school. Then Ali learns of a race where one of the prizes is a pair of running shoes and he becomes determined to win them. Story is simple enough that kids may enjoy watching other kids even in a foreign film. Farsi with subtitles.
