Whitewash Movie Review 1994

Sporn based his animated story on a real-life incident that happened in the Bronx. A young African-American girl, Helene Angel, and her brother Mauricio are walking home from school when they're surrounded by a gang of white street punks. After harassing the two children, the gang spray-paints Helene's face white. The incident becomes a media sideshow and Helene refuses to come out of her room until both her family and classmates help restore her self-esteem.
