Peretz moved his atmospheric debut feature (adapted from a short story by Ian McEwan) from the English coast to the bayous of Louisiana. There local gal Sissel (Gregson Wagner) is shacking up with fish-out-of-water Brooklyn boy Joey (Ribisi). They have a lot of sex. Sissel finally introduces Joey to her crazy father Henry (Burke) and the two men get involved in an eel-catching business. Then Sissel and Joey start spatting and soon they're not having sex anymore and their romance drifts away. The film does look really good.
